The phoenix is a symbol of an individuation that chooses to live in the path of truth and voluntarily accepts the suffering of burning along the path of truthfulness. At the end of the journey, above the magnificent nest of its suffering, it stands facing light and truth and sings its most beautiful song. It knows that to burn in the light of truth is to burn in a fire from within, and only after this death can the rebirth of a greater and higher Self become manifest.
