When, for years, Iran has held the highest record of executions among the countries of the world, and Iran also holds the record for the greatest number of executions of juveniles, there are only two possibilities:

1) The people of Iran are the most criminal and delinquent people in the world.
2) The government ruling these people is the most ruthless and criminal government in the world.

When these statistics are repeated year after year, there can be no third possibility.

So those of you who have a justification for every act of oppression and violence committed by this inhuman system: come and choose one of these two options and explain how you yourselves tolerate this catastrophe of human life in Iran being treated as so worthless.

Why does none of you say: enough. Stop killing so many Iranians. You have created an ocean of grieving people. You have created multitudes of people seeking justice.

The people’s revulsion and hatred toward you is revulsion and hatred toward your violence and cruelty. It is this violence that prevents them from believing any other word you say or any other face you present. You have submerged people in grief, pain and anger.

You have brought a nation with thousands of years of poetry, philosophy, mysticism, art and culture to a condition in which no government in the world kills even the worst offenders in its own society at the rate at which you kill these unfortunate people. Are you truly not ashamed of holding first place in this? Do you not tremble at the execution of young people?

Your machinery of injustice can find a way, when it suits its own interests, not to execute certain people and even to release them after a time. Yet it cannot find a way not to hang an eighteen-year-old.

May Iran one day see all the darkness of your violence washed from its beautiful face, and may it proudly have the lowest rate of imprisonment in the world and a system of justice worthy of the culture of this honourable people.
