Perhaps the first principle of wisdom is to spare nothing from our questioning, especially what we are completely certain is correct and justified. Yet a higher level of knowing may be to see the possibility that we can agree with the luminous side of everything, even what opposes us, so that at a still higher level we may see the real shadows of the world with greater clarity and courageously rise to struggle against them while simultaneously rescuing the luminous side of ideas, human beings and the world. This is my practical and applied definition of what “love” is in life.

To think psychoanalytically—“psychoanalytic thinking”—and to move phenomenologically and dialectically between the luminous side of our own belief and its dark side, then journey towards the luminous side of the opposing idea, and finally stand at a greater height and watch a new thought being born within this dialectic, is to travel the path of life and thought along the course of this “love.”
