My heart is with all the young people of Iran—with the friends who stood beside us on this page for years and about whom today we know nothing. There is no way to obtain news. I hope they are all safe.

Friends imprisoned in the world’s largest prison, know that you are in my heart. All of us outside the homeland are filled with your passion and with your pain. All this suffering will draw us closer to one another. We will all gather around this shared pain—closer than ever.

I hope the time comes soon when you can read these few lines.
