Can classical Marxist thought be examined within a humanistic framework?

This short talk, to be published in two twenty-minute parts, reflects on Marshall Berman’s analysis in *All That Is Solid Melts into Air* of the relationship among Marx, modernity and modern humanism. It also examines Marx’s thought from the perspective of existentialist thinkers and critical movements within Marxism that have attempted to establish a new relationship between human individuality and the collectivist ideas of classical Marxism.
