Is there a form of knowledge that can help us see the world with greater clarity and choose our path more wisely at every moment of decision, so that through what we do unknowingly and without reflection—and through our limited clarity about life—we do not turn our own world and the lives of others into hell?

The knowledge that increases the resolution of our image of life is knowledge of life and of living. If there is a path out of the hell in which we find ourselves, that path can only pass through knowing.

Philosophy can be reduced to philosophical information, but such reduction adds nothing to the precision or clarity with which we see the world. The only thing capable of transforming us in a genuine sense is deep knowledge rather than superficial knowledge; and the striving of such knowledge is not to guide our minds toward paradise, but to transform us into paradise.
