Depth and Archetypal Psychology Course
Session Six / Final Part (Part Three):
Ten Practical Approaches to Developing a Strong and Positive Masculine Personality
Aydin Areta

The third part of Session Six of the Depth and Archetypal Psychology Course is a fifty-minute examination of ten practical approaches to developing a strong and positive masculine personality.
This final section of the exploration of the Great Father archetype begins with the well-known legend of the Fisher King. Through an archetypal analysis of this story, and also of the legend of Parsifal, it examines more closely a form of masculinity that has been wounded and rendered barren within itself, permanently unable to enjoy the feast of life and the sovereignty of its own kingship, as well as the healing of this wound that is brought about by Parsifal’s presence in the story.
The session then considers the importance of the following practical qualities in the expression and development of masculine energy and consciousness:
⁃ Living through action
⁃ Fertilising the world with love and freedom
⁃ Connecting with universal consciousness and undertaking the journey toward the Self
⁃ Clarity of personal vocation
⁃ Returning to simplicity
⁃ True strength, accepting pain and suffering, and remaining open to negative emotions
⁃ Possessing diverse abilities and skills
⁃ Accepting masculine energies
⁃ Being authentic
⁃ Being a guardian of the continuity of consciousness
